Almsgiving as Content

Recently or even a long time ago about content creators who utilize alms to make content is much talked about. “compulsory alms such as paying zakat should be publicized so that others know” said KH Mahbub Maafi, but this statement raises pros and cons. Now, some people are competing to create various contents to be posted on social media. Giving alms or sharing with those who cannot afford it has become one of the most popular contents on social media. Does the content include an attitude of riya’ or not? Therefore, the question arises, is it permissible to use alms for content? In my opinion, it is allowed. There are 2 reasons that I will explain.

The first reason is it can be motivate a lot of people. We can see this content as an education to get motivate a lot of people. Showing inspirational stories of people who need help in economic terms. we can also invite many people to participate and take concrete actions in sharing and alms with others. Showcasing the creative ways content creators share, such as through campaigns and online sharing projects. This method can spread positive values such as caring for others, empathy, and kindness.

The second reason is that more people know who the more economically needy people are. By creating such content, more people know about the person who is need and less, so that we can help them. When people know who needs help, it can encourage many people to share and help. Knowing the stories of individuals or groups who need help can help people better understand the specific needs that exist. It can build a sense of solidarity and empathy among the audience.

To finalize, it is okay to share or give alms to be used as content, as long as there is consent from the relevant parties. By asking permission from the person you want to include in your content and giving a good reason, your content will run smoothly. As long as you don't abuse this content with bad things like manipulating to capitalize on the emotions of the audience without providing honest or complete information. To create content like this, you must have good intentions so that it can motivate many people and not to show off.
